My Landscape Design

I'm taking a landscape design class independent study with a friend. I think I missed my profession in life (maybe). I should have been an architect or something.

Even though this says "Jenson Residence," it isn't really. We were just supposed to put that on the drawing. This isn't a traced drawing either. It's one of the drawings from the textbook that we had to redraw to scale. See all those curvy lines? Those took forever!

I think it turned out pretty cool if I do say so myself. Now I'm working on a "Site Map" of our own house. It's just the basic house with sidewalks, fences, rocks, etc., but no plants. That will come later. Then we have to analyze the property to see what changes need to be made. It will be fun to see how it all turns out. I hope we'll actually be able to improve and add to our yard, although it probably will take a few years. I can't wait to learn about all of the plants and flowers, but that comes after the midterm, which we are beginning to study for now.

  2. That sounds like it would be a fun class to take. You should really take on a challenge and landscape my yard!! That would be fun, right?

  3. Well........it would be fun, but it takes awhile and it would be hard to do without me being there. I would have to do just the area around your house. For the class, we had to limit our space to about 1/2 acre, otherwise it would take forever and be much harder to do.

  4. Hence the "challenge" right? C'mon! How hard could 2 acres of yard be?! Ha ha...hard, I know. I've only come up with about 501 different ideas for the yard over the years. And that's only bits and pieces, not the whole yard.
